Movie Premier: FILIPINO FATHERS of VARNERTOWN INDIANS, An Untold Filipino American Story

FAAGC is proud to serve as the fiscal sponsor of a documentary produced in partnership with the Wassamasaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians.

Produced and Directed by Chiara Cox, FAAGC’s Music and Art Ambassador, the film shares the little-known story of Filipino fathers who built families within the tribal community in South Carolina’s Lowcountry—and the traditions and identities their descendants carry forward today. Post-production begins in Spring 2027, with a premiere planned for Fall 2027.
